What is the best or one of the best love books among the classics (and why)? [I’m looking for suggestions; I don’t know if I’m in the right place to ask.]
The best romance ever written is Persuasion by Jane Austen. It’s about longing, loss, and growing into the person you need to be to get what you want.
The most sparkling: Pride and Prejudice
Honorable mention: Far from the Madding Crowd by Tom Hardy. It has a strong female character and it’s a story about true love being built on friendship and dedication and trust.
