Hey, I am looking for books where the protagonist (or antagonist) is trying to get power at all costs.
Books that are like House of Cards, Game of Thrones where ruthlessness is required to survive. I’d appreciate any recommendations or discussions.

The Gormenghast series might interest you, though it’s not exactly action-heavy and is more about the beautiful prose and the weird lives of the many characters.
