I just read the wager, which was not bad at all. So now I’m looking for books similar to it.
It was around the 1700s, about sailors who become castaways and talks about their survival on the island (mentions of cannibalism, surviving on a island with little to no resources) and their eventual return to civilization. So definitely something about sailing, people living on the boats back in the day and potential shipwrecks.
Thanks

Types: A Peep at Polynesian Life, by Herman Melville. It’s a semi-true account of his time in Polynesia, where he jumped ship and lived with a tribe of cannibals.
Also I should add, something more fiction than nonfiction. Definitely prefer to read stories not necessarily just a historical document if that makes sense. I like history, but I also would like to be entertained
I found 3 Years Before the Mast to be fascinating but it is non fiction and you might be looking for fiction
