Hi, I’m looking for a book that has to do with the main character in the story having done something evil or just some bad deed in their past not because they’re fundamentally evil but because of some insecurity or perceived betrayal and later in life they’re drowning in guilt over it and are working to atone for it/+ learning to forgive themselves. I know it’s more of a kids book but this is the theme of Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner and I’m trying to find something similar in theme.
