So I just recently finished Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White (literally not even 3 hours ago) and now I’m searching for a book similar.
I’m mainly searching for a horror YA novel with lots of religious imagery/symbolism/trauma, a queer/trans MC and descriptive body horror/gore
Some other thing that I’m looking for (but aren’t needed per se) are post apocalyptic settings, romantic sideplot, found family, and alot of anger (like characters getting angry, not me the reader lol)
Also the more emotional it gets me, the better

The Honeys by Ryan La Sala won’t be similar plot-wise, but it has a lot of the themes you mention! Enby MC, body horror, romance subplot, and really well written. One of my favorite reads last year.
