I’m a forensic social worker for a public defender’s office and work with incarcerated folks. I have a client just sentenced for 3 years. He has schizophrenia (don’t get me started on the failures of the system). He asked for a book on Greek mythology or The Odyssey. This is not something I have read and I’m wondering if someone can let me know if this is safe for an individual who experiences paranoid delusions and abnormal fixations to read, or can you provide some alternative suggestions?

I suppose it’s safe but it’s an old/archaic text, so not an easy read.
Not quite Greek mythology, but you might recommend The Discourses of Epictetus and The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius.
