Hello all,
I need a recommendation for a book that will draw me in in the same way I am Pilgrim did. I’ve never experienced a reading high like what I had when reading that book, omg. I couldn’t put it down and would read late into the night and wake up super early in the morning just to finish it, and then regret having finished it…
What’s interesting was that it wasn’t necessarily the topic that got my attention, it was the prose. I’m finding that I really enjoy authors who write quickly, with short chapters, and meandering stories that expand on themselves. Since finishing, I’ve read:
Satsuma complex – ok, quick read
The idea of you – quick read but omg so overhyped and the main character is so whiny
Tomorrow, tomorrow, and tomorrow – took me longer than I expected mostly because it felt like the author was dragging out the climax
Yellowface – didn’t like the main character but the style of writing was great and exactly what I was looking for
Lessons in chemistry – again, loved the style of writing, with two stories merging into one
Would love any and all recommendations – I have some travel planned and need something that I can read nonstop during long flights.
Thank you!
