I’m hoping to read a book about a well-known villain that gets to be the star of the show now. In the Hunger Games series, the author released the fourth published book called “the ballad of songbirds and snakes” as book #0 where the villain in the rest of the series gets his come-up story and shares context about why he is the way he is.

I’m looking for more books like this. I’m not picky about if the villain has some happy-ending or moving transformation. I’d prefer it to be about an established villain, as opposed to an unknown main character who is villainous. But I’m open to your suggestions! Thank you!
