I read the book Influx by Daniel Suarez and I loved it. I have read other works by the author and they are all great but it was the premise of Influx that I want more of.
A secret group that is suppressing all the innovative tech and keeping it for themselves. Gimme MOAR!
I am pretty open in terms of genre, setting, and tone as long as it has this basic idea in it.
