A book on current life as a 20/30-yr old?

Would love to read something on what authors/characters are experiencing and going through in the current state of the world.

I think I’m looking for the current equivalent of catcher in the rye or such.

I guess title is vague as current life could be a successful young lawyer in NY or a doctor in the Philippines or a mechanic in Poland… But perhaps something from the point of view of a dissulisioned Westerner?
