I can’t do it anymore. I’ve bought a dozen books that I thought I’d like but can’t stand to listen to. I must have lost interest. Recently, the reads I really liked were:
Unfamiliar Fishes by Sarah Vowell (about the annexation of Hawaii and the role of colonization in it)
Utopia for Relaists by Rutger Bregman
    Deficit Myth by Stephanie Kelton
The War in Normal People by Andrew Yang
The Righteous Mind (and some of the follow on books) by Jonathan Haidt – his most recent book can’t get my attention. It’s just a rehash with better evidence of is older books. I already agree with it all.

So suggest me something that is intellectually challenging and comes with an interesting structure or narrative. I love history but for the love of god keep WW 1 and 2 out of the suggestions. I like a mix of historical context and narrative. If non historical and nonfiction, something that proposes unique ideas is great. Deficit Myth and Utopia For Realists challenges conventional understanding of the economy and proposes solutions to the looming AI takeover.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions. I hate not having something to read, I’m just overwhelmingly bored.
