So last august I got diagnosed with severe gastroparesis and I have a feeding tube. Needless to say this is not where I wanted to be at 30. The feeding tube means I cannot become a vet tech for risk of a dog pulling it out. I can’t even volunteer at the animal shelter like I used to for the same reason.
I spend a lot of my days wishing life were different and just feeling bad about myself and my life. I need help (yes I’m in therapy!) to work on changing the way I see my life, new aspirations, and how to cope with being chronically ill. Fiction or non fiction books welcome. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I don’t have a suggestion, just wanted to say I have gastroparesis as well and I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this. Join r/gastroparesis if you haven’t already!
I would suggest the book *The Invisible Kingdom*, by Meghan O’Rourke.
