hello. i’m an autistic woman currently dealing the the burnout that comes with masking my autism. these actions include trying my hardest to keep up with social cues (being bubbly to make neurotypicals comfortable when i’m not), having to entertain conversations and act invested when i don’t care, talking when i’m overstimulated etc. i want a book that’ll push me to prioritize myself and happiness over fitting in or being liked by others

    thanks in advance

    1. Well there’s Unmasking Autism by Devon Price. Haven’t read it myself but I’ve read several of his essays and he’s great

Australian Donna Williams has written multiple memoirs and books on Autism since the 1990s.
