I recently started reading non-fiction to improve my life.

The three books in the title helped me immensely, and their writing was also excellent, even gripping in some places. I couldn’t put them down (except while making notes of course.)

I love reading about rediscovering ancient ways of living, anti-modernity, health, spirituality, creativity, and productivity, but almost all self-improvement topics are great.

I don’t care at all for financial advice or topics which aren’t immediately applicable, just nice to know.

I’ve tried many other books that were recommended by others, but their writing nor their message resonated with me at all.

To name a few that I didn’t like:

    1. Anything from Ryan Holiday. Tried three of his books, always put them down. The writing was horrible, repetitive, and his thoughts are a modern abomination of stoicism.
    2. Cal Newport. His books seem perfectly suited for people working in corporates. I got close to nothing out of them – I’m a law student.
    3. Robert Greene. Mastery was an okay book, but not great. His other books are just meh, couldn’t finish them.
    4. Rich Dad Poor Dad. Just fucking no.
    5. Jen Sincero. Her books are like TikTok in book form. Terrible.
    6. Jordan Peterson. I’ve had enough of the lobsters.
    7. Tiago Forte – I have an analog note-taking system.
    8. Mark Manson. A bit similar to Jen Sincero, just didn’t like the style
