Do you know any books where the main character is actualy kind of a side character?

So I’m looking for book suggestions where the main characters kinda just observes people around them, it feels like they are a side character in their own life. The perks of being a wallflower kinda gives the vibe of what I am looking for, I guess. Do books like that even exist?
