Books with characters who struggle with lack of purpose and/or self worth?

I’m writing a fiction book where the MC struggles with this, and to develop the character I need better insight.

So I’d like to gain perspective from other characters in other books that explore similar ideas of:
– feeling like their life is meaningless
– lack of self worth
