I cant post in r/books yet so i came here.
I’ve been buying books from amazon/barnes n noble for way too much money. I just found Thriftbooks but it feels way too good to be true. I am about to buy 3 hard cover books in “good” condition for $7 each. Im super skeptical. Where is the catch? How can this website possibly sell 3 hard cover books for the price of one paperback from barnes and noble?
What is your experience with this site? Is there something I’m missing? Or is amazon’s capitalistic greed just that shameless?

They’re legit. I’ve only purchased some harder to find titles from them, but their listings were *very* accurate when it came to the condition the books were in. They’re a reputable site, so don’t worry about it being sketchy in terms of using your card with them. I’ve never personally had an issue with the stuff I’ve purchased, but I’ve heard from others that their customer service is top notch if there were to be an issue.
I’ve been buying books at thrift for several years, and I buy at such a high volume I qualify for their discount [Literati]. It’s the best deal for used books, with a large collection, and great customer service.
Just make sure your order is at least $15 – free shipping.
**betterworldbooks is also excellent.
