Hey everyone, I(m 23) recently got diagnosed with ADD and getting help with that stuff now. Before I could not read more than a few pages at a time and it was really, really hard for me to read anything. That being said, I still tried, buying a few books, but I never got very far.
Now, after getting diagnosed and getting help, I can finally read! I tried reading “Lonesome Dove” which was really stupid because it’s super long and kinda sad and not for me at all. But I got to page 300 anyway which is crazy for me tbh. Anyway, I decided I don’t want to keep reading the book, not because I couldn’t go further but because I just don’t like it.
I am now here asking for a suggestion because obviously, choosing a book myself, didn’t go very well at all haha.
I am looking for something that is not as long, not super hard to read but it doesn’t have to be easy either. I picked up Lonesome Dove because people said it had ‘deep characters’ and a ‘love story’ which are things I really enjoy in movies for example. I’m not against any genre in particular but please no western haha.
I can read in english and german if that is relevant
If you need any more information, feel free to ask 🙂
I am excited to join the community!
P.S. Idk if this fits in the reddit here but what are some things that help you ‘stay with it’

Jurassic Park is such a great gateway drug into various genres. It’s sci fi, mystery thriller, action and even horror. You’ll read and love it and will want more of it. Michael Crichton will be your guide
