My husband and I are both agnostics and have been wanting to raise our children to be open-minded about having (or not having) a religion. Recently, the neighbor kid learned that we are “non-believers” and sent each of my kids home with a book about various elements of Christianity.
I’m not super happy about the neighbor kid proselytizing to my kids and have realized we need to start talking about the different types of beliefs that people have so that my children can form their own opinion.
With that said, what are some good kids books that introduce the basic ideas of different religions? It would be great to include a wide variety of past religions as well. It can be one book or many different books.
My kids range in age from 5 – 9. The 9 year old is able to read chapter books on his own, but I would like to have some easier to read books for my 5 year old as well.
Thank you!
