I haven’t really read in awhile because it just isn’t enjoyable anymore I am so sick of the intellectual snobbery and elitism in reading why do people see a need to pick apart everything they hate about something just for the sake of it whenever I say something like oh I liked that book I receive a list of a hundred and one reasons why it was shit and I shouldn’t like it way to dump on something I enjoyed or meant something meaningful to me is it fun for people to make people feel stupid and unintelligent is that the intended purpose of belittling people about how or what they enjoy is it fun does it make you feel good to make me feel awful and stupid why do the “intellects” of literature feel the need to give everyone their unsolicited opinion I get it its your opinion you can have it but at this point you aren’t trying to have an opinion but more so get pleasure out of criticising everyone for everything because every book doesn’t fit your criteria of a literary masterpiece and god forbid anybody enjoy anything way to go bozo I feel stupid for what I like what your doing is working for people who do that you win yayyy for you pat yourselves on the back you’ve made me miserable and ruined a hobby

I agree with the idea behind your post. This subreddit as a whole looks down on a lot of books/genres and it can be tiring and annoying, though there should always be space for a discussion. But come on, it’s like you’ve never heard of punctuation. Your post is literally just one difficult to follow sentence and your point gets lost in the mess, as it’s unreadable in its current state.
You shouldn’t be so insecure about your reading choices, plain and simple. People are going to talk about things they like and dislike about books. Why does that upset you so much? Is your entire personality based around some sort of low quality genre fiction? Why do you see it as a personal attack that some people criticize the stuff you enjoy?
