I’m still processing a heartbreaking breakup and I loved that book. Being inside the minds of two characters going through that, and actually in the same city that I’m in (London) was thrilling.
What I loved about it: it was straight to the point. We’re right in there with our nose in the dirt inside the breakup. The story is set in today’s world (2019/2020), you can see the perspectives of family, friends, girlfriends, parents…
Reading that book was like talking to a sibling, it felt so personal and close.
And so real, too. I laughed and got teary eyed so many times because that story could have happened to me.
It did a lot of good to heal my poor lil’ heart. But I want more!
Could you recommend me a book like that ?
I’m a guy, but it doesn’t necesarily need to be from a male perspective, as long as it’s relatable.
I was looking at “Maybe you should talk to someone” but it looks like it’s leaning a bit too heavily into the world of therapy, whereas I’m looking for a fictional story about people just like us. I hope “Good Material” is not such a unique book that I won’t find anything like it!
Thanks a lot
