Good fantasy/sci-fi book for a beginner?

It has been years since a red a book that wasn’t a comic/manga, and I want to begin reading more.

I want a book that’s not too long or hard to read, while being very fun. I am currently reading the hobbit, and I’m enjoying it a lot, but it can be a bit slow in certain chapters.
