The book is dystopian, post-apocalyptical, fantasy. it starts with a lady giving birth in a cabin, i think. It’s about the last town standing where nobody leaves because of the threat of something. The main character is a strong female but the love interest is a inventor guy with mysterious magic powers. A woman is seen outside the walls heading towards the town but is shot with an arrow to the neck. The inventor guy has a sick mother who is bed ridden I think. the main character kills his mom for some reason They have to leave the town to go to this “utopia” place that the girl wants to go to and they take the woman who got shot with an arrow along with the main character’s brother who falls in love with arrow girl. Later in the book, the brother dies and the inventor guy gets like white stuff in his hair when he uses his powers or something.
