My favorite mystery thriller books include:

    * Look Closer by David Ellis: Twisty with so many turns. I was wrong so many times, thinking I knew what was happening but couldn’t even guess one thing. When I finished, I had to sit back for like 10 minutes to process the masterpiece I just read.
    * Gone for Good by Harlan Coben: The only book that is on the same level as look closer by David Ellis. these books deserve more recognition. Twists with so many turns as well. Also was wrong so many times, with all the twists in the book making me reevaluate my theory and I couldn’t even get it right.
    * His and Hers by Alice Feeney: Couldn’t guess the killer. Love this book.
    * Rock Paper scissors by Alice Feeney: Loved the twist as well, didn’t see it coming.
    * Blood for blood by Victoria steadman : cat and mouse game, murder mystery. love it,

I don’t want any rip-off book, please e.g. The perfect marriage being a rip-off of gone girl. The housemaid by Frieda being a 95 percent rip-off of the last Mrs. Parris by Liv Constantine.

I don’t like/want amnesia tropes, mental illness trope, unreliable narrator trope, supernatural trope (e.g daisy darker by Alice Feeney).

Other books I liked or didn’t gues who did it include: the family game by catherine steadman, what lies in the woods by Kate Alice Marshall, The Good Lie by A.R.Torre, A Flicker in the dark by stacey willingham, the night shift by Alice Feeney e.t.c.

    Thank You

Mirrorland by Carole Johnston – what do you really remember from your childhood? Years later our main character tries to piece together what really happened when she was a kid.

The Dry by Jane Harper – a community turns on itself after a murder in the miserable heat of an Australian drought, super atmospheric.

In the woods by Tana French (and the sequels) – literary procedural novels about messed up people. Maybe less thriller but I really love these so I have to rec them

The last time I lied by Riley Sager

Anything by Ruth Ware is pretty much guaranteed to be a really solid thriller
