I have been very interested in reading more books either from that time or encapsulate that time well. Not required, but bonus points if it relates to the Vietnam War/draft resistance/antiwar movement! I don’t mind if they’re fiction or not, but often prefer fiction (good for the imagination). I’ve got a good list going now, but want suggestions for some I may have missed or some that are DEFINITELY good to read. I am doing fieldwork over the summer where I’ll be camping for 10 days at a time, so I’m trying to stock up on books!
Some books that I’ve read and fit what I’m thinking of:
– Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon (tbh might reread it, one of my faves! I definitely would enjoy more books similar to this)
– Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann
Some books I have to read:
– Slouching Towards Bethlehem
– Play It As It Lays
– Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (this one seems like it might feel similar to Inherent Vice)
TIA for any recs!!!! 🙂
