Over the last few months, I read several books that happened to have the same general premise of two magicians competing in England (although each book approached it in a very different way):
– Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell
– The Night Circus
– The Prestige
Is this a common theme of British fantasy literature that I never noticed before? Are there more books I should add to this sub genre? Or are there any other fun but oddly specific sub genres you’ve found?
