I love long books, the closer to 1000 the better. Just finished Ken Folletts pillars of the Earth series, and wanting more.

Can you recommend me some long books? Not classics, I bought war and peace and couldn’t get through a chapter.

Open to any other genres though!

I’m currently reading “Churchill: Walking with Destiny” by Andrew Roberts which clocks in at 982 pages, and in small print. I’ve found it very absorbing though, I’ve managed to get through almost half of it in about 4 days.

Every single Game of Thrones book, but the first three are the best.

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan

      The Lord of the Rings

      Atlas Shrugged

Pandora’s Star and Judas Unchained by Peter F. Hamilton. A masterwork of science fiction that might seem like it wanders too much, but there comes a point where it all comes together, and you will see nothing was wasted. Not sure what it is in pages, but the audiobooks are close to 80 hours between the 2 of them, which is long enough to be like 5-6 regular books.

Tomb of Sand by Geetanjali Shree, around 700 pages I believe. I’m not far in but it has an interesting start & I like where it’s going.

Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy

      Centennial by James Michener

I was going to suggest the Wheel of Time series as all of the books are epic but someone already posted.

*The Sunne in Splendour* and/or the Welsh Princes trilogy, both by Sharon Kay Penman. I don’t know how I missed these historical fiction novels for so long. They’re so well done with excellent characterization.

    8. Red Rising trilogy, each book is 500+ pages, roughly 1500 pages total and it’s great! Think adult hunger games on Mars and other planets.

The Terror by Dan Simmons. If you like Scfi you could also try his Hyperion cantos which was split into two books by the publisher but is really one.

My favorite doorstop books: Jerusalem by Alan Moore, Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, and Anathem by Neal Stephenson
