Books with “Scott’s tots” level cringe?

I was wondering if there are any good/well known books out there that heavily feature cringe. Not the book itself being cringy, or the writing, but the characters themselves. Cringy in the sense of a train wreck so bad you can’t look away, but you do cause of the cringy horror, and then look back hoping they get out of it. Scott’s tots is one of my favorite episodes of television, so I was wondering what sorts of analogs are out there.
