I’m still very new to reading seriously, and being a huge horror movie fan and have never read anything by King, I chose Misery (never seen the movie surprisingly) as my introduction to his work. I enjoyed it a lot, probably my second favorite book I’ve read since picking up the hobby, and was immediately itching for more of his work.
So I’m looking for two recommendations, one horror and one non-horror. And preferably around the same length and readability as Misery. At this stage, books like It and 11-22-63 are very intimidating to me and I’m still trying to ease into the hobby, I’ll hopefully get to them down the road.
Much appreciated everyone!

Joyland is pretty short, less than 300 pages if I remember correctly.
