My dad’s house just burned down. He likes to read and we’re trying to get him some more books. He has read everything Stephen King. Though if there is a lesser known good read by him, he may not have read that yet. He also likes Westerns and the Jack Reacher books. He generally sticks to mystery/thriller types.
Please suggest a good read, that isn’t difficult to understand when reading. As he also has early stage dementia and can’t follow some of those older ones that are worded a little weirder.

Stephen Hunter Bob Lee Swagger series,
If he likes action/thrillers Tom Clancy is good. Red Storm Rising and Patriot Games are both excellent.
Well Kings new book comes out May 21 -You Like It Darker. So he will need that 🙃
ETA-it’s a book of short stories so it could be good for him since they are more straight to the point.
My dad loves Jack Reacher too. He also likes:
James Rollins’ Sigma Force series
Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series
I would say both of those series are pretty easy to follow and are action-packed.
My mom has similar taste in books and she loves everything by Jo Nesbø
