I’ve decided that I need to expose myself to different literary traditions and stories, so I’ve embarked on the “reading around the world challenge” but I find the suggested reading lists I find to be quite dull or outdated. I’d love to know your suggestions.

I don’t need any books from the following countries because I’ve already checked them off the list (I’ll add the books for anyone curious):

    1. **Albania** ^((Free by lea Ypi))
    2. **Bangladesh** ^((A golden age by Tahmima Anam))
    3. **Chile** ^((Limpia by Alia Trabacco Zeran))
    4. **Ecuador** ^((Jawbone by Mónica Ojeda))
    5. **England** ^((The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert))
    6. **Germany** ^((The Sandman by ETA Hoffman))
    7. **Guam** ^((Dragonfruit by Maiika Lucier))
    8. **Japan** ^((Weasles in the Attic by Hiroko Oyamada))
    9. **Malawi** ^((The boy who harnessed the wind by William Kamwamba))
    10. **Pakistan** ^((Exit West by Moshin Hamid))
    11. **Palestine** ^((Victims of a map antology))
    12. **Poland** (^(Drive your plow over the bones of the dead by Olga Tokarczuk))
    13. **Senegal** ^((At night all blood is black by David Diop))
    14. **South Korea** (^(Lemon by Kwon Yeo-Sun))
    15. **Sweden** ^((The Deal of a lifetime by Fredrik Backman))
    16. **Turkey** ^((The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak))
    17. **United States** ^((so many lol))

I’d love a recommendation from your country if you’d like to share! 😀
