I just finished Kitty Cat Kill Sat and… wow. I did NOT realize just how emotionally invested I had slowly become in all the characters until the last chapter or two. Trying to avoid any spoilers, but I did not expect to shed literal tears over a frankly cliched last stand scene from a relatively minor character or two.
And I *like* that.
I’ve really been enjoying relationship based narratives lately. I’ve read just about everything Becky Chambers has written, I’ve read all of Murderbot, and Kitty Cat Kill Sat was right in that sweet spot. But now most of my to-read list is back in the space opera / action space, and I’d kinda like to dwell in the emotional space a bit longer.
Got any suggestions?
