Books with intense emotion that’s almost thriller like
I just finished reading I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeannette McCurdy. Although a memoir, something I am not usually into, this is one of the best books I have ever read.
The intense topics and the way they were told left me feeling incredibly emotional and overwhelmed like I was experiencing it myself.
The themes of sex, dysfunctional families, eating disorders, and mental health are all incredibly difficult topics but I enjoyed how intense her writing was. It was almost like a thriller or true crime and the shock of some of the events she endured kept me engaged at a level of “I cannot believe this happened” way.
Are there any other books that have similar themes that foster this intense sense of emotion? I don’t know if I am interested in another celebrity memoir but I am open to all suggestions.

are you looking for more shock, thriller, or just *any* type of emotion being pulled out of you? like, do you want to cry or gasp in shock/horror?
