Most books put their female characters into the classic archetypes (damsel in distress, girlboss warrior who needs no man and is perfect at everything, nerdy but conventionally attractive woman who is an academic weapon etc) while the men get to be genuinely well written and nuanced characters. I hate that the women have to excell at something or be pretty and there is always a man that wants them, I hate how unrelatable they are. I want a book about a woman who is a real person with real struggles (not the classic “men hit on her too much, but shes different” like every other character out there)
