Looking for a small-town crime novel—preferably set in the 20th century near Texas

I’m in the middle of Stephen King’s 11/22/63 right now and I’m loving the small-town 60’s vibe. Very immersive and atmospheric.

I’d love to read a crime novel set in 20th century Texas or earlier.

I’m open to non-fiction true crime, as well.
