I was interested in the show Bridgerton but decided to look into it a little and it seems way too into romance/sex scenes. I feel like the Victorian era is a go-to for romance but I’m not looking for something that’s all about romance and especially not something that’s just thinly veiled references to sex. I don’t like the romance genre, mainly read adventure but I also want something that’s not too dark after reading The Testing (some very graphic death descriptions with that one). Especially interested in slice of life for some peaceful reading but open to suggestions of pretty much anything non-romance (mystery or even murder-mystery might be good, just looking for something that’s not romance or overly dark).
