I know it’s technically a four-part series, but I just want to talk about the first two books.
I’ve listened to the audiobooks (all four in sequence) I think two times previously, and I’m currently re-listening/’reading’ the series again (only have 8h left on the 2nd audiobook), and I just want to talk about how incredible these two books are.
The prose, the imagery; as someone else said on here a while ago, every pilgrim’s story in book 1 could be it’s own entire novel, entire world, entire standalone story. But the way it’s all weaved together is just incredible..
Book 2’s depictions of >!Brawne & the Keats persona in the datasphere/megasphere and the discussion with Ummon, the Shrike’s tree of pain with Martin Silenas quoting poetry at his presumably dead Sad King Billy, those brutal deserter soldier guys that captured The Consul and how he was rescued.. Joseph Severn and how he dreams of the events on Hyperion whilst still dealing with his own traumatic ass shit…!<
…Just.. all of it.
I think these two books are *some* of the height of sci-fi. I’ve read & listened to a decently wide variety of sci-fi, so all input & recommendations are welcome.

I just finished reading the first two books for the first time and I feel the same way. I loved the characters and loved the mystery of it all.
