In short. I hate reading books overall but I know how good of a time I had reading Harry Potter when I was 12. In fact it’s the only books I’ve ever read entirely. I have not read a book since and would like to jump into a book i will get satisfied from.
I want to learn from what I read and not so much story telling like Harry Potter books did.
I saw a book about death and was interested. For example. but I don’t wana read a book on death just yet.
Any help?

Have a look at my favorite Steinbeck book (yes Steinbeck. He is only intimidating because of English teachers) Cannery Row. It has drunken bums, a whorehouse, a frog hunt, a crazy party fight. It’s less than 200 pages and it is written in middle class American English. The sequel (Sweet Thursday) is even better but it really should be read second.
How old are you and what sort of books are you interested in? It sounds like you might be looking either for something nonfiction or fiction with some sort of overarching theme.
Do you want a book that will help you emotionally connect with a certain concept? There are some easier/transitional classics that might help with that.
