Recently, I’ve just been reading/reccomended a lot of books about female rage/suffering in which a woman is put through the freaking ringer and goes through so much trauma and pain, usually at the hands of men/society.
While I appreciate these books and understand their importance, I really just want a book featuring women’s joy and humour etc. And I don’t mean joy because of romance (because that’s a woman still at the mercy of a man or at the very least societal expectations).
I want books with a focus on female friendship, humour, experiences that aren’t all misery. Conflict is obviously fine, but nothing awfully traumatic. I also don’t really want romance or YA. I don’t know if these specifications are too narrow or vague, but any reccomendations would be appreciated.
