Book that a man in his 50’s can relate to the main character

I have enjoyed many books about the main character “coming of age,” growing up, learning, experiencing life, and wondering about the things he observes or experiences.
I enjoy these whether the character is 18, 35, 50, or 70. However, I am wondering about books where the character is close to my age of early 50’s. I wonder what character I can relate to, learn from, be amazed by, shocked by, who is near my stage of life.
