Recommend a book. About surviving on a foreign planet. Preferably with an overall optimistic tone. Can be futuristic or even fantasy instead of science fiction
Examples:
Tunnel in the Sky – Heinlein
Freedom Series – Anne McCaffrey
Nimisha’s Ship – Anne McCaffrey
Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir
note: I have read all Anne McCaffrey space books and Andy Weirs books

**The Legacy of Heorot** by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Steven Barnes. It’s classified as sci-fi horror, but it didn’t strike me as such. The story itself has two (very apparent) sections, presumably a result of dividing up the effort among the three writers.
The story is about a planet colonization gone wrong.
The Color of Distance by Amy Thomson is about a sole survivor of a team of surveyors marooned on a dense and isolated alien planet, an uninhabitable world for humans. Her only hope for survival is to adapt to the alien life (both physically and psychologically) to survive.
