Having a hard time finding books these days. Any recommendations for this type of book?
Haunting of hill house / bly manor series on Netflix, but like books. (I know haunting of hill house is based on a book, but it didn’t hit the spot)
I like it to be set in our universe, not a fantasy world (that’s a different reading mood)
So I want a book rec thats slowly building to the peak, you’re not sure what’s happening or who’s telling the truth. Bonus points if it’s gay🤷🏼♀️ Kids involved makes higher stakes. I don’t like brutal shit that much (like lots of blood), I prefer more of psychological damage, you know?
I read “a head full of ghosts” by Paul Tremblay, and it was quite alright. Currently reading “the cabin at the end of the world” aswell, can’t say I like this one that much tho.
Bonus points if it’s from a female author 🤷🏼♀️ IDK, I just want something to make me think I’ve gone crazy, and scare me shitless.
