I’m a kid of the 90s that grew up on novels of Vietnam and Tom Clancy. I’ve struggled finding an author recently that compares to Clancy’s attention to detail and plot building. (Disclosure: I can’t stomach any more novels about a lone Navy SEAL with a vendetta against the world!)
Looking for something more realistic to what a modern war would bring. Military vs Military with a few key actors. (Game of Thrones circa 2030?)
I’m former Infantry veteran of the GWOT era so it is a must that the contents are realistic and plausible! I tend to stick to non-fiction because of this but have pretty much exhausted any Military book coming out of the War on Terror and most of the classics like “Helmet for My Pillow”
Looking for something that pulls me in rather than a non-fiction text book that puts me to sleep! Fiction is preferred simply because I am looking for something new but any Military related book that is in your Must Read lists is welcome, as well!
