    1. Mary Roach writes really entertaining informative science books. You learn even though you are having fun! Gut is about the alimentary canal and Stiff is about your body after death.

*The Demon-Haunted World* by Carl Sagan is a great read for someone who’s recently developed an interest in science.

It’s not about any particular scientific topic but rather about the critical-thinking and methodology that forms the basis for science in general. It’s an approachable, fun read that’ll help you better appreciate any science related books you read after it.

    3. Hens Teeth and Horses Toes, by Stephen Jay Gould

Small, easy and fun to read look at evolutionary biology with fascinating and intriguing ideas that doesn’t require a degree to understand. Something you can talk about with friends to share the fascination. Made me want to talk about it. Very accessible.
