Don’t get me wrong—I *love* this author and want to finally re-read Lonesome Dove this summer. What I’m looking for until then is **a similar feel, a similar vibe** to his books. Preferably as realistic and/or historically accurate as possible. (I’m also always up for good non-fiction books on this topic.)
I keep stumbling across the same recommendations, and many of them I’ve already read or have waiting on my shelf: *The Sisters Brothers*, *True Grit*, pretty much anything by Cormac McCarthy, *Butcher’s Crossing*, *News of the World*, *In the Distance,* a few books by Louis L’Amour… currently I’m finishing *O pioneers!* by Willa Cather. What do I miss, guys?
