Suggest me a book that feels like Shogun, but with magic and/or magical creatures. No manga please. Stand alone prefered, but series is ok too. Thanks!

If you don’t mind a series that combines feudal Japan with a modern storyline, The Fated Blades series by Steve Bein is a decent read.
The Shinobi series by Susan Spann is a series with a samurai solving murders. Might be a bit after feudal, been a while since I read them and was only able to find the first two.
