The Private Heinrich Himmler: Letters of a Mass Murderer.
It gives a brilliant insight of how Nazi leadership thought, how well they were supported by ordinary German citizens, and what the “end game” was for many of them. I’d like to say it “humanises” Himmler, but it really, truly does not. Instead it shows how well supported this “inhuman” man was. He wasn’t an outlier.
