Hi! So this is a bit of an odd request, I know.
I’ve recently gotten back into liesure reading after a decade long hiatus. I read a lot of convoluted material for work, which can make reading books with long, drawn out sentences and heavy detail a bit unappealing to me.
I’m interested in true crime and recently read If You Tell and American Predator. Both of these books were incredibly disturbing, of course, but felt easy for me to read based on the sentence structure/general flow/etc. I actually read both of them this week.
I really dislike superfluous details about the scenery and what people look like, unless those descriptions are particularly relevant to the plot.
Any suggestions?

Gregg Olsen has a lot of true crime books. Starvation Heights seems to be his most popular after If You Tell and it is a fascinating story.
I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara is also excellent.
