I remember in a book by Jon Ronson, he talked about how he, with Alex Jones et al., infiltrated some kind of rich people secret order meeting. I really enjoyed the way it was narrated with Jon and his companion calmly walking into the event and having a good time, and Alex and his companion widly dashing through the bushes with their eyes darting about everwhere seemingly in a panic. I found something about the implicitly deprecating contrast between Jon's calm experience VS Alex's mad fever dream very funny.
Are there any books that capture this kind of humorous "vibe" with any of their main characters?
