So i’ve been searching for a true enemies to lovers, tho i never found a real one, these are some good fantasy books that i loveee and want similar recs : the cruel prince, once upon a broken heart, cruel beauty, kingdom of the wicked, sorcery of thorns, stalking jack the ripper, Belladonna, violet made of thorns.

i really don’t mind if the trope is rival to lovers, prejudices that fades when you get to know the person…etc. i just really like the slow-burn and the tension between the two protagonists that never truly leads to something else until the very end of the series/book(if it’s a standalone). bonus if the male lead is similar to Cardan and Thomas or Jacks. and i’d like it very much if the romance was a subplot and there was some other bigger problems in the story!!

    1. I have not read the books you listed so I can’t compare. I’ll list the ones I know, eventhough they might not exactly be *enemies*.

“Cold in the shadows” by Toni Anderson, contemporary romance/romantic thriller, male/female. The main male character (CIA agent) believes the main female character he’s investigating to be a killer. Due to an unexpected situation, he ends up saving her life and abducting her, while figuring out the truth.

“Hunt the stars” by Jessie Mihalik, sci-fi romance, male/female. There’s not much slow burn but the main characters are from two different worlds (and even teams) that were at war against each other. In present times, he hires her services as a bounty hunter. They start careful but respectful of each other.

“A fate of wrath and flame” by K.A. Tucker, fantasy romance, male/female. A modern day heroine is thrown into a fantasy world, more precisely into the body of a woman who was engaged to a prince and had just killed his parents. The newly crowned King understandably hates her and doesn’t believe her true identity. Please note this is still an ongoing series.
